Our Mission
The 4-Freedom Podcast exists to bring the message of Galatians 5:1 to those in the body of Christ that have been trapped in the legalism of the IFB (Independent Fundamental Baptist) movement.
It is our goal to expose legalism, help those who may have been abused, encourage them to grow in God's grace, and to accomplish all of these through the Word of God by expounding the Scriptures.

We believe that true freedom comes through understanding and applying God's Word correctly, breaking free from legalistic traditions that add burdens Christ never intended.

James Safrit
Co-Host & Founder
James brings 15 years of pastoral experience and a deep understanding of Scripture. His journey out of legalism gives him unique insight into helping others find freedom in Christ.
Brett Martin
Co-Host & Cigar Specialist
Brett combines his theological background with a passion for fine cigars. He believes in creating spaces for authentic Christian fellowship and thoughtful conversation.
Our Story
The 4-Freedom Podcast began when James Safrit and Brett Martin, both former members of strict fundamentalist churches, recognized the need for a voice that addressed the harmful effects of legalism while maintaining a strong commitment to biblical truth.
Having experienced firsthand the burden of man-made rules that obscured the gospel of grace, they set out to create a platform where Christians could explore what true freedom in Christ means.
The addition of our cigar line came naturally, as both hosts found that some of their most meaningful theological discussions happened during moments of fellowship over a good cigar. Each of our four signature blends—Sweet Elder, Bishop's Blend, Pastor's Reserve, and Deacon's Delight—represents different aspects of our journey and message.
Today, 4-Freedom has grown into a community of believers committed to standing firm in the freedom Christ secured, supporting those healing from spiritual abuse, and enjoying the good gifts God has provided—including the fellowship that comes with sharing a premium cigar.
